Junior Rimrocker: Info and waiting list Empty Junior Rimrocker: Info and waiting list

While demand for this tournament is high and the spots pretty much fill themselves, as is the case this year, it also the case that teams are forced to drop out each year; some very close to the start of the tournament. As a result, we try to create a longer than usual waiting list of teams interested in filling any openings. If any coaches are interested in this year's tournament, please contact me at xavier-rimrocker@hotmail.com and also please make sure that you clear your schedule of other games Jan 6-9, 2011.

Generally, when a team drops out we try to fill it with a team from the same category of teams (see below) and that is also of a similar calibre.

    - Right now, all 8 spots for Peel teams are either filled or tentatively assigned to a team that is finalizing its team.
    - We try to reserve at least 8 spots for non-GTA teams and we currently have 7 filled and we are waiting to hear back from another team. We almost always lose at least one non-GTA team so coaches are encouraged to e-mail if they are interested. Also, we try will usually try to add more than 8 non-GTA teams when the calibre of competition warrants it.
    - 14-16 spots are generally set aside for GTA teams (not including Peel). While a couple of coaches have been slow to reply, it looks like most of the spots are filled but this category usually loses a team or two before the tournament as well.

The tournament details are as follows:

    Jan 6-9, 2010 (Thur-Sun)

32 teams in 8 groups of 4 teams each.

All teams play 3 round robin games on Jan 6 and 7 at one of 4 sites in Mississauga and Brampton. Only one game will conflict with the school day. Teams from outside the GTA and the Golden Horseshoe will get priority for late starts on Jan 6.

The top two teams in each group will advance to the round of 16 on Saturday morning. QFs are Saturday evening and the final four (semi-finals, bronze medal final and gold medal final) is on Sunday morning and afternoon.
