I am the best player for an alright highschool team in Toronto, (won't expose) but my team could never compete with schools like Carr, Eastern, Pick, etc and we would never go to a top tournament like Rimrocker.
I also play on a good OBA team were I am also one of the top players.
The fact that Im a good player that played for a weak school, will scouts from CIS take my accomplishments at my school into recognition?
Depending on how good you can lead your team, if you want any recognition, then you have to be the BEST player on your OBA team, and be able to lead your OBA team, just like Chris Paul, he took his highschool team no where, but took his AAU team to a title. Hey what school you go 2? Are u Johnathon Layne?
The CIS is not like the NCAA. You dont need to be recuited to play and being good won't help you get into school if you dont have the marks. If your marks are good enough to get in to a Canadian University then jsut talk to the coach and ask if you come to a tryout. If the coach says no he is probably not the type of coach that you would want to play for.
If your team is not that strong that is ok. Do what you can to help your team mates improve. Learn to be a good leader and any university coach will see this.
True, the marks have to be there too, no marks, no ball=P To add with that you also have to have a real good attitude, just look for some NBA players now, that werent heavily recruited, and find out how they got noticed by university's, then itll give you some hopes for the future
