Dexter Palmer # 22 added 28 points in the father goetz game agaisnt st.francis xavier . He played a fantastic game, worked real hard , it was a good game but goetz took it just as i predicted, goetz was up the whole game but not by very much. it still was a good game.

    Lets go Goetz... !

Bring it home for South Peel!

I dont want to see a north sweep in tier 1 Senior Boys, Senior Girls, and Junior Boys. ( excluding Junior girls St. Marcelinus)

Has any school ever had a Senior and Junior Peel champ in Boys that anyone can remeber?

    half time score

    G38- FX 27

    Full time

    G67 - FX59

yes Goetz lead the whole game it wasnt a fluke tht they won the deserved and won the series 2-1. Dexter was the only force on Xavier, they played tough but at the end speed beat size. Stefan wasnt very disciplined should have gotten at least one technical for swearing on the court bt wasnt a factor had i think max 6-7 points. Number 4 on Goetz Adam was draining every 2 pointer and probably had a double double and only missed one shot from the field and 2 FT. Also Demetre was a factor for Goetz amazing speed and great finishes.. Amazing team effort.

Finals gonna be tuff. I call Goetz, any other predictions??

Panathas, Coach Blue, Xavier Rimrocker or any other Peel coach,

Maybe you could suggest to ROPSSAA that they should include a past champions page on their website. Not only for basketball but for all sports or if there is one could you guide me to where I can see it?

Goetz just flat out played better than us(Xavier) they played with alot more energy and the crowd was just insane, they fed off the crowd real nice. Also i didnt realize how good Goetz could shoot, they couldnt miss today.

Im still saying D'youville wins now, but hey Goetz has been real surprising in the playoffs so you never know.

Xavier/Goetz was a really exciting game. Both teams battled hard. Goetz dominated. Up by double digits, they had Xavier scrambling the entire game. Xavier is a big tall team while Goetz is extremely fast. Xavier should have dominated inside but they were reluctant to go down low. The tall kid #33 (Stefan?) held the ball at the far to long. He had no business being out on the perimeter for the entire game. He does not seem to have those skills. From the first time he put the ball on the floor it was stolen. Took to many bad off balance shots and turned over the bad too many times. His indecision to make a play caused the offence to stand still. Defensively he was destroyed by each one of Goetz quick guards. He looked a little lost out there. I don’t know how or who convinced the coach to allow him to handle the ball out there. If the team was going to win, he would have to spend some time in the paint and that wasn’t happening. At one point he got on a little roll, but not much.
Dexter #22 was the only bright spot for Xavier. He was tough defensively and got to the basket with determination. Very good defender and rebounder for a guard. He is tough as nails and would not give up.
Goetz played very well. They were quick defensively, getting steals in the passing lanes and causing many turnovers which lead to many easy buckets. Although they did missed a bunch of break away layups! Dimitri #13 played well. Breaking down the defence and scoring off the dribble with some nice floaters over the much taller Xavier defenders. He also distributed the ball well getting into the lane drawing defenders and dumping it off and finding open players for easy baskets. He did however get into foul trouble which sparked a little comeback by X. #11 (RJ or JR?) hit a couple of long range shots which spread the defence and the lead. But he forces ill advised passes and turns over the ball. It must drive his coach crazy.
The biggest factor in Goetz win was the play of their big man #4 Adam. Came off the bench and hit jumper after jumper. X had absolutely no answer for this guy. He seemed to hit every shot hit every except one which he grabbed the board for the put back. Must have scored 20 pts. In the 4th X went on a little run when for some reason Goetz stopped going Adam with the hot hand. Guards were wasting possessions dribbling a bit too much, jacking some shot, a few unforced turnovers and X cut the lead to 6. After a timeout, they went back to Adam for a few buckets and #11 hit a timely basket to put the game out of reach.
The Gator crowd was definitely the 6th man. They were so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think. The Xavier players could not focus as they were paying more attention to the crowd than the game. X had a large group of fans as well. They tried to rally their team but were just drowned out by Goetz fans reminding them how many times they beat X and how many championships they had. It was all in good fun as they all seemed to know each other. It is hard for a visiting team to come into that gym and get a win.
All in all it was a great game.
Good luck to both Goetz and D’youville in the final.

Goetz has a real crowd. Especially when Tut and Riekos sister used to bring the kitchen pots.

Ascension, Lincoln and Notre Dame had great fans aswell.

Screw d'Youville for hosting the the finals cause there doing it for the money , kinda ridiculous to scam money off of thier students by holding it @ 11:30 since when has a game been held at 11:30 =Si've yet to find a game at tthat time 1:30 2:00 maybe but 11:30? THAT'S RIDICULOUS
and if thats not the case its selfish to hold a championship game a once a yr event for just students at your school to see with a few of the opposing teams fans and not have the players family/friends attend because the have to be at work or school
honestly the league needs to make it so its available for everyone to see it
like would a celeb hold a concert at 6:00 in the morning or in the afternoon?

the timing is kinda odd the only time i saw this kind of timing for ROPSSAA sports is football and i think hockey finals but never basketball...but they did sell tickets at goetz i dont noe if they split the capcity into tickets evening to both school but the tickets went on sale today at 7:30 am in goetz and were sold out by 8:00am .... it is a con for parents who came to watch all their son's game bt its a shame tht they cant watch the only game tht matters the finals

    Doing it for the money!?!?

It's not the choice of the higher seed school to keep the game at their school. Its up to ROPSSAA to determine the location of the game, and this year they did not want to hold it at sheridan college. Do you think for a minute that d'youville players would not want to have their parents attending the game?

I do think it should be a late game at sheridan so that all that want to attend can. (For both Junior and Bantam).

Both teams were able to sell tickets and I'm assuming it was a 50 50 split

well some d'Ypuville players after talking to them don't even like the idea of this if ROPSSAA let it be d'Youvilles responsibily they should have mad it an after school game, i caould careless where it was held the timing is what really gets to me,because everybody would love to get a chance to watch this, because at this point in time people do not have the "free" time.
