Rick Hansen is a very well coached team as I know because I played for them last year and attended this tournament we came 2nd to sandalwood beating us in the finals. This year teams to watch out for are Sandalwood, Rick Hansen, and Stephen Lewis. Im not sure if everyone left from stephen lewis but they do have a strong shooting team all they do is shoot jumpshots I doubt this year they will be as strong.

    Good luck Hansen!

I think the consensus favorite to win this tournament would be Pope John Paul, but Sandalwood beat Campion this very week so look out for them to do some damage.

    Observations from the tournament:

Negus is one of the top 5 players in the province and perhaps top 10 in our country at his age.

Jude Gouveia is the best player you have never heard of. Can really shoot the ball, tremendous ball skills, great all-around skills.

Troy Grant from Sandalwood is one of the best players in Peel...clutch player...plays in the moment of the game but the moment is never too big for him, does not force the action, lets the game come to him..

Rich Audu (Metro Prep) is going to be a next level player...needs to improve his jump shot, but the tools are there for him to be great..

Jarryn Skeete (Metro Prep) has the instinct to be great but he needs to develop his leadership skills--especially important as a PG on a high level team...

Rick Hansen is going to be a very good Tier 2 team this year and could be great next year...Chris Harrison has a chance to be special

Hassan Abdullahi from Pope is a next level player...on most other teams he would be a star but on Pope he is a patient and effective player...really not many weaknesses in his game...perhaps more physical on his drive?

Love Pope's Aaron McGowan's game...very smooth, and in control...

Nick Madray from Stephen Lewis is a tremendous talent...a 6-7 shooter...if he develops perimeter skills (which he is working on) to complement his shooting ability, he is next level as well...

Mile from Glenforest is what makes them go, but Daniel Tulloch can be a Provincial level player is he puts more into his game...he has the tools and physical ability but does he have the heart and work ethic and passion? I think he does but does he know he does?

As for us, I believe we have an elite scorer in Marc Dize Ekemba...we are working hard to develop his basketball IQ and to understand our system..we have great depth including emerging talent at pg with irijah bartholomew and jamal wray and solid experience with adam lam, justin chan, haleel barroo and warren robinson...I believe we have an opportunity to have a great season...

Sandalwood Seems To Be Making Noise This Year.
Other Than Troy Grant, No One Really Talks About Anyone Else On Sandalwood.
