What's the story with Bill Crothers? They beat #1 and #2. Shouldn't they be #1? And none of their players in the Fab48?

Hooptown Gta how come you haven't replied to actionjacksons message regarding Bill Crothers?

Bill Crothers played #9 Dunbarton twice and beat them by 9 and 36 points.

Why are they not in the Super 16 rankings?

Bill Crothers is a sports school for high performance athletes. The Bill Crothers Excellence basketball team is not considered for the Super 16 for this reason and are considered a "prep" team. They do no compete in a regular high school league in Ontario and they will not contend for OFSAA. So they are not included in the Super 16 or the FAB 48.

There is a 2nd Bill Crothers team that competes in the York league. Only they would be considered for the Super 16. The "B" team played in the Huron Heights tournament.

Bill Crothers Excellence does not compete in regular league games.
HooptownGTA Super 16 rankings, are based on high school teams that compete in regular high school league games.

    Interesting facts to consider:
All girls playing for Crothers Excellence are eligible to play YRAA (except one)...it was a choice not to participate in the league.
When these girls lose they are ridiculed as they are a sports school and expected to win
When these girls win they are told they had the advantage as they are a sports school
The teams they compete against (Super 16) have many girls that play D1 in OBA and in the JUeL league
Some of your Super 16 have National Players on the team
And as for the FAB 48... All great players trying to get to the next level..not unlike the Crothers girls!
Give these kids a break it's just good basketball!

Where and when have the Bill Crothers girls been ridiculed? This site just made a decision to only have OFSAA GTA teams in the top lists. But they still post Bill Crothers scores. While this website is a good source of info, NCAA and CIS coaches already know who the top players are especially the girls on Bill Crothers!

Well Martingrove came off the bus from a week long school run camp minutes before tip off with Fatigue and several cases of the flu. But that didn't matter, healthy or not, we were NOT coming close to this Newmarket team. I haven't seen a shooting display like this in some time.

Confused by your statement that "All girls playing for Crothers Excellence are eligible to play YRAA (except one)..."

Crothers CANNOT participate in YRAA play because the Excellence team is considered the "sport of specialty" for its members which as stated in the YRAA's own constitution:

"Any student enrolled in a sport program will be eligible to compete in any team sport except the sport
being provided through the sport program [ie. sport of specialty]**. The period of ineligibility will continue as long as the
student attends the school where the sport program is offered, as long as that sport program is
    offered." http://www.yraa.com/documents/docs/Constitution%202014-15.pdf

It was not a choice by Crothers not to play in YRAA, it is a rule by York Region which deems them ineligible. BC recruits girls out of their school boundaries, as well their applicants from within, so they are afforded the advantage of tapping into larger groups of talent from all over the GTA and abroad.

HM: St. Augustine (Markham) defeated Brother Andre in YRAA league play tonight 59-20. St. A's is now 6-0 (2-0 in YRAA play) and are coming off an impressive 39-30 victory over previous #15 MT where they did an excellent job containing 2013 Member of HooptownGTA's 20 Point Club Elite 8, Monique Calliste to 13 pts.

Newmarket is the clear favourite in YRAA (and defending champ) but St. A's continues to make solid strides thanks to the strong play of their grade 12's (especially Karen Law) and the emergence of their grade 10's (Chyvon Thomas & Safiya Hurst).

Keep an eye on 5'9 grade 10 SG/SF Safiya Hurst, who continues to improve her play with every game and is beginning to turn heads as she gains further exposure... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2WYlRuYIZ4&feature=youtu.be

The YRAA constitution that you refer to applies to students entering Crothers after Sept 2012. Therefore, this group of girls were still eligible to play this year (except for one of them). And recruiting? I have never seen this at Crothers..now at St Josephs on the other hand....
