Board - Now that the Olympics mens bball game is over, and we saw a very competitive and fantastic game that reminds everyone that America is beatable, we turn our attention to our country. Will our highly skilled, able, competent and competitive youth movement take up the challenge, dedicate themselves to excellence and represent this country? I hope so. They are capable of going a long ways.

    Agreed Bernie!

I think we are beginning a new era for Canadian Basketball. By 2016 we could field a team with a core nucleus of NBA players. That would be: Tristan Thompson, Cory Joseph, Joel Anthony, Trey Lyles, Myck Kabongo, Andrew Nicholson, Andrew Wiggins, Tyler Ennis-McIntyre, Xavier Rathan-Mayes and more. That group would be bolstered by some serviceable players already on the SMNT.

Having Steve Nash at the head of Basketball Canada will also be an asset! The future is very bright. Countries like Argentina and Spain will be in decline. They are getting up there in age! Canada can fill that vacuum.

Coach et al: Good to see that the braintrust for Canad's nat'l senior team got things rolling with the training camp last week. They are asking for a four year commitment from prospective players.. Coach is bringing the same qualities that brought success to the US team to Canada - dedication. Here's the link: a few nice photos too on the site... /Bernie

Crazy amount of talent... just think of the point guard depth; C Joseph, Kabongo, Cadougan, Ennis, Pangos. Within four years time, all except Cadougan, might be first round picks in the NBA.

But intersting how Andy Rautins was not at this camp!!!!! Anyone know why?
